Elite Helicopter Tours will have a booth setup as well as a Robinson R-22 training helicopter setup for static display at the Heroes Air Show located at the Hansen Dam. The event will take place July 24th and will be open to the public from 9:00am till 4:00pm. This helicopter focused air show is free to the public with free parking as well. You’ll be able to tour the various helicopters used every day for emergency services, law-enforcement, military, training, tours and more. The event also celebrates the everyday heroes domestic and abroad that serve and protect. This is an action packed event as well. A small incident occured at Van Nuys Airport today July 10th just before 2pm in which a twin engine airplane performed an emergency belly landing due to engine failure. The plane skidded off the runway and came to rest adjacent to 16L just before Vanowen Street. According to officials neither of the two passengers were injured and they were able to walk away safely. Simon Davis was at the Elite Helicopter Tours office during the emergency and followed on-scene after seeing various fire and FAA airport vehicles speed to the landing site. Various news vans were onsite which interviewed Simon. His comments can be seen below.
